A poem that does not start with I

Fariya Rahman

Not yet,
so much of me is still unspoken, that

it would take years and many sleepless nights, and days of camouflaging myself to the bed in white; innumerous trips to the grocers, and reading and smelling the pages of the books I saved for later; weekend trips to the park and meeting people with stories similar to mine, and watching waves crashing down to the shore, million barefoot steps into the nature, and then two tiny hands reaching for my face and bringing me to the present, to this moment

before writing one that starts with
something else.
